Summery

For my second attempt of making a face outer of clay on canvas, I made it a lot bigger so it took up more of the canvas. I used the same technique of adding a bit of clay at a time and using my fingers to smooth it on. I think the larger face is more effective as it is more in your face and noticeable. While still letting the clay dry I wanted to find a reference image to paint it from as the first face didn’t really turn out well with the painting. I found this red a black painting online I'm not sure who the artist is but it has the colours I want to use for this piece. After painting the face using acrylic paint, I stepped back and look at both faces comparing them and thinking about how to develop.

One way to develop this would be to first off all get a much bigger canvas. I will also be looking at different ways of applying clay maybe by using tools.

Overall, this idea is working really well and I would like to keep using clay for this project.
